Love this: "Hold on a little longer, love. Let that yes grow a little wider. There is no stopping the Spirit of God. No church policy, no abuse cover up, and no human notions of power can silence the voice of Love’s Yes in you." Beautiful and inspiring!
I love this post, especially these words: “I knew what God was allowed to say and not allowed to say to me. And whatever it was that God was asking, I believed I had no choice. I had to do what God was telling me to do. Thirty years later, I see how many beautiful choices I actually did have, how my invitation was always a lifelong river that could stream out so many different ways.” So beautiful!
I just came across this post after reading a couple others here, Micha, and…holy crap!! It is as if you could be writing my story! I too, grew up in the southern Baptist Church, and felt the call of God to ministry. When I tell my story to folks, I often say that because of the restrictions that were placed on me as a female, I felt like the only thing I was going to be allowed to do was to be a missionary and live in a grass hut. Thank you for writing so eloquently and expressing your heart and God’s love. Keep on keeping on, sister!
Poignant and powerful, Micah! Love your transparency!! Look at how you’re combining pastoring with beautiful writing. Thanks for sharing your gifts and calling.
