In the quiet and holy sweetness of finally listening to my own conscience, I found in my relief the voice of God, there with me: “Hi, honey.” God said. “I’ve been here the whole time."
Hi! I was going to ask the same question. I recently read a book called UnClobber by Colby Martin and wondered if you had read it? It addresses six verses that are controversial. I’m so excited you’re writing a new book! Kathy
Hello! First, I just want to say how much I love your writing. Second, I would love to get some of your recommendations on reading material that you referenced in your post. Thank you!
Hi Lisa, thanks so much. That means a lot! There were a few books that really helped me as I thought more deeply about interpretation, etc. One was "A Letter to My Congregation" by Ken Wilson. Another was "Changing Our Mind" by David Gushee. "Bible, Gender, Sexuality" by James Brownson. At some point I read a helpful article from Walter Bruggemann that I can't remember or find anymore. But I just came across this from him, written more recently, which points to similar ideas. https://outreach.faith/2022/09/walter-brueggemann-how-to-read-the-bible-on-homosexuality/ Always happy to chat if you want to reach out: michaboyett@gmail.com
