Micha, I am praying for you as this past season has been hard. I resonate greatly with the struggle as I too, have faced the challenges of changes in a body that doesn’t listen. After 30 years of being in a chair and working so hard for the independence I’ve had, it is difficult to relinquish or find myself loosing some of it. Slow… or slower ways… do not come easy to me with my self expectations of participation & productive success!
I trust God is placing a strong supportive community around you. And I pray he is restoring strength in you to reveal his love & glory.
Micha, so glad you are recovering. I've been reading Byron Katie, Martha Beck, and Eckhart Tolle these past few months and so much of what you've shared here really resonates. Identity and success are funny things - like playful decorative shells that have nothing to do with the reality of Universal Love inside that we actually are. Even 'healthy' bodies fall into that category for me. Wishing you and all your boys a wonderful summer filled with fireflies and belly laughs. 🧡
