Your post here was good food for thought, and I have a suggestion: instead of using the word pleasure, which gets mixed up with all too many connotations of sensuality and hedonism, what about using the word "delight"? Delight is playful and enjoyable--which is pleasurable--but doesn't carry all those sensual implications. I think it's also a great word to use instead of "pride" when, say, you've accomplished something well and enjoyed the process. You don't have to be necessarily proud of it in terms of lording over others or puffing up the ego, but can take delight in it.
In these ways, delight is then easily something one can share with God and Christ--feeling their joy and delight in both pleasure and accomplishment.
Yes, excellent! It seems that all Scripture has a billion or more true interpretations. One might be that it is about transformation (weddings can do that to people) experiencing the boring as pleasurable sure seems to fit.

Thank you for all of this, Micha.
